Life and work
Mallikarjuna Reddy was born Changalaraya Reddy, son of a landlord and politician mother Akkamma, Thoppanahalli Village in Bangarpet, Kolar (District) Karnataka. India.
At first, under the self influence, He learned caricatures in school Kolar Gold Fields at age nine. He studied with self-owned skills and creativity and has the potential of creating high-end miniatures and has hand full last skills. Caricaturing on the most delicate media, has the sense of handling such most delicate material and presence the skill of art. But soon after, supported by his family he moved to Bangalore (2000) to study Biotechnology at the Reddy Jana Sangha College. It was there, in the communities of Reddy’s and Friends that he had enriched his skill of Miniature although his parents were envying his hobby of Miniature Sculpture. Living in this environment, Mallikarjuna Reddy create Microscopic sculptures. In 2001 he exhibited at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad with his first one-man show held at Chitrakala Parishad he was commissioned by most influence by media.
With artistic innovation at its height, in the 2004s he experimented with abstract forms he called Micro Miniature sculptures. Later he developed a more dynamic creation, which he achieved to Indian figures and animal compositions which compressed of 62,000 collections and more in wood, rice grain Chalk Carvings.
With the assistance of the Indian journalist and Photographer Manjunath Kiran he had enriched his popularity, however, he was not a commercial artist. In February 2005 he was recognized as the Guinness World Record Holder by creating a 28-link chain on a single toothpick; he had broken the previous record of 17 links created by Bob Shammy, an American, created in 1991. Later he had many Awards to his credits.
Then he entered the field of social service with the influence of Tulasidas H Dasappa, a freedom fighter and veteran politician, and Mr. J.M.Rajanna Setty, a High Court lawyer, he spent most of his time in social service and political activities. He indulged in ancient Temple Architects, ancient monumental research, Graphology study, Biotechnology, Multimedia etc. Later, he moved back to his native village and started a rural education school Akshara International School. To provide the best and adequate education for the young generation and he teaches his skill of Miniature Sculpture for children, mentally retarded persons and disabled people. The skill of Miniature Sculpture requires enormous amount of patience dedication and imagination to create such art.
